Servicing and Supporting Computacenter’s Automated System
Herts Mechanical Handling Services (hmhs) has been entrusted with servicing and supporting the automated system at Computacenter's facility in Hatfield, Hertfordshire by delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) that includes thorough LOLER examinations.
Computacenter’s system comprises Stocklin automated cranes and a pallet conveyor, both crucial for the operational efficiency of their logistics operations.
The primary objective of consistently carrying out PPM is to ensure the reliable operation and safety of Computacenter’s automated materials handling system. Our PPM delivery involves hmhs conducting regular servicing and maintenance, on a rotating basis every three months.
Our engineers carry out systematic and detailed examinations of the equipment and its safety-critical parts as per the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER). This is done every six months to ensure compliance and safety. As part of Computacenter’s maintenance package, we also replace worn parts such as belts and bearings, ensuring continuous and safe operations.
The partnership between Herts Mechanical Handling Services and Computacenter has proven to be highly effective. The regular inspections and maintenance under LOLER have significantly enhanced the safety of the automated systems. The proactive replacement of worn parts and thorough examinations have reduced downtime and thanks to hmhs’ health and safety certifications, we have ensured that Computacenter remains fully compliant with all safety regulations.
